Selection elements of wheel hub

Size

Do not blindly increase the wheel size. Some people enlarge wheels to improve vehicle performance. When the outer diameter of the tire remains unchanged, larger wheels must be matched with wide and low-profile tires. This reduces the vehicle’s lateral sway, improves stability, and makes cornering as light as a dragonfly skimming the water. However, the lower the profile of the tire, the thinner its sidewall, resulting in poorer shock absorption and a significant sacrifice in ride comfort. Additionally, the tire is easily damaged if it hits small obstacles like stones. Therefore, the cost of blindly increasing wheel size cannot be ignored. Generally, increasing the wheel size by one or two inches from the original is the most appropriate.

Three Distances (Offset, PCD, Center Bore)

This means you cannot randomly choose a style you like when selecting wheels. You must also follow the technician’s advice to check if these three distances are suitable for your vehicle.

Shape

Wheels with complex and dense structures are indeed aesthetically pleasing and look premium, but they are often refused service or charged extra at car washes because they are too troublesome to clean. Simple-designed wheels, on the other hand, are dynamic and neat. Of course, it doesn’t matter if you don’t mind the trouble. Currently, popular aluminum alloy wheels, compared with the old iron-cast wheels, have much higher deformation resistance and are significantly lighter. They reduce power loss, allow the vehicle to run faster, save fuel, and have good heat dissipation—making them popular among most car owners.
